NorthWood Softball: Atkinson Fires Shutout At Panthers
NAPPANEE – NorthWood couldn’t scrape together much offense in a 2-0 loss to Goshen Tuesday at Stauffer Park.
Kate Atkinson earned the shutout for the RedHawks, firing a one-hitter with six strikeouts, but did walk seven batters. Grace Anglemyer had the lone hit for the Panthers.
NorthWood did bring the winning run to the plate in the seventh after Atkinson walked two batters, but Atkinson got a pop out and strikeout to end the threat.
Hannah Stickley threw a fine game for the Panthers, allowing just six singles and struck out four.
The Panthers fall to 10-14 overall, facing Goshen again Wednesday at Shanklin Park.
