WARSAW — A large crowd is expected to gather at the Kosciusko County Courthouse this weekend for one common goal, supporting the legalization of cannabis.
The Higher Fellowship is hosting a rally from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 20. The fellowship is an Indiana organization fighting for the use of hemp for agriculture as a means of economic growth, for the medicinal use of CBD and THC and for the ability to use or possess cannabis without legal repercussion. The fellowship is visiting 92 counties around Indiana for their Rally Tour.
This is the second year the tour has stopped in Kosciusko County.
The organization is asking for community members who share their beliefs to come to the event to show support. There will be informative speakers set up throughout the event to educate the public on the fellowship’s views. There will also be live musical performances.
Warsaw resident Breon Jones will co-host the event this year.
“I wanna give people the courage to come out and demand that this medicine be made attainable for everyone,” said Jones. “It is our constitutional right to protest and in order for change to happen these senators need to see that this is what the people want.”
