Valley Golf: Vikes Can’t Catch Champs
WABASH – The Valley boys golf team couldn’t catch up with the defending Three Rivers Conference champs, losing to Northfield 174-179 in a trio with Wabash, which shot 200, Tuesday afternoon at Honeywell.
Northfield, which won its third straight TRC tournament championship, bested Valley with all of its scores lumped together. Caleb Kroh paced the Norse with a 40, then had Cameron Cole with a 44 and Austin Trump and Logan Peas both at 45.
Valley, which has the tournament medalist in Jeremy Julian, used his 39 but then went 44 from Cade Brouyette, 46 from Chris Schipper and 50 from Noah Hoffman.
Wabash came in with Asif Khan at 46, Austin Wieland at 48, Blayze Shemwell at 51 and Aiden Benysh at 55.
Wyatt Hall had the top round for the Valley JV at 49.
The Vikings, now 7-3 in duals, travel to Sycamore on Thursday to meet Manchester and Whitko.
