Silver Lake Day Festival Planned For June 17
SILVER LAKE — The 41st annual Silver Lake Day Festival will be held on Saturday, June 17.
The day will begin at 8 a.m. with community garage sales in town and the lake areas. The Manchester Civic Band will perform in the downtown area beginning at 10:15 a.m.
The yearly parade will begin at 11 a.m. This year’s theme is “All Aboard.” Parade awards will be presented at the judge’s stand immediately after the parade.
The Fire Department will take care of lunch at noon with a hog roast at the old fire station. The Echoes of the Past will have a tractor and equipment display in the downtown area.
At 1 p.m., the corn hole tournament and the bed race will take place. The corn hole tournament will take place downtown and the bed race will happen in front of Lake City Bank.
The car show will line SR 14 in the downtown area from 3 to 8 p.m. Later, enjoy an ice cream social at the old fire station from 4 to 7 p.m. Watch homemade ice cream being made by Echoes of the Past.
The night will end with Lion bingo in the Lions building at 6 p.m. and live music by After Six. The music will start at 8:30 p.m. and continue until midnight in the downtown area.
Applications for vendor spaces are now being accepted by calling Tonya at (260) 352-212 during regular business hours. Car show, parade, corn holey tourney and bed race forms are currently available at several Silver Lake businesses. Forms are also available on the town website.
