Warsaw Track: Tigers Show Well In JV NLC Meet
ELKHART – The Warsaw girls and boys junior varsity track team members turned in strong showings Saturday in the JV Northern Lakes Conference Meet.
No team scores were kept in the league event held at Elkhart Memorial.
The WCHS JV girls team got first-place finishes from Megan Dawson (1,600), Taylor Gunter (3,200), Ashley Nichols (pole vault), Sarah O’Cock (pole vault) and Valerie Spoor (long jump). The 4 X 800 relay team of Carmen Yoder, Gunter, Hanna Bloemendaal and Megan Metzler also placed first for the Tigers.
Placing second for Warsaw were Carmen Yoder (800), Lex Desenberg (200), Metzger (1,600), Abby Wilson (300 hurdles) and Julia Warren (high jump). Third-place finishes were earned by Metzler (200 and 800) and Aimslee Howett (3,200).
Keegan Larsh won both the high jump and long jump events to lead the Warsaw boys contingent.
Joel Light was second in the pole vault for the Tigers and Jaxon Wagoner was second in the shot put. The 4 X 100 relay team of Bryce Garnger, Trevor Anderson, Jayton Brock and Skylar Knisely placed third.
