Warsaw Golf: Tigers Win Pair In League Play
PLYMOUTH – The Warsaw boys golf team turned in quite a performance Thursday evening.
The undefeated Tigers fired an outstanding team score of 149 to defeat host Plymouth and Elkhart Memorial in a Northern Lakes Conference triangular at the Pretty Lake Golf Course.
The 149 turned in by Warsaw was a season-low score for the Tigers.
The host Pilgrims shot a 164 and the Crimson Chargers a 199 in the league matchup.
Warsaw had all four of its top players shoot in the 30’s in the pair of wins. Sam Yeager led the way as he captured individual medalist honors with an even par 36 for the Tigers.
Tim Rata fired a 37 for Warsaw, while Luke Delp and Luke Johnson each finished with a 38. Tommy Meier had a 41 for the Tigers.
Warsaw improves to 7-0 overall and moves to 4-0 in league play.
Micah Calhoun shot a 38 to pace the Pilgrims. Kyle Stansbury led Memorial with a 41.
Plymouth edged past Warsaw 181-182 in the junior varsity match. Chase Byron and Zach LaLonde each shot a 44 for Warsaw. Jacob LaLonde had a 46, while Brian Elliott shot a 48 and Noah Pequignot a 54 for the JV Tigers.
Warsaw will compete in the Culver Academy Invitational on Saturday at Mystic Hills. The Tigers will then host NorthWood Tuesday evening in an NLC match at Stonehenge.
