Triton Softball: Woodard, Hargrave Slug Trojans To Win
BOURBON – Hannah Woodard and Taytum Hargrave combined for eight RBIs as Triton outslugged Jimtown 11-7 Friday in an old Northern State Conference reunion.
Hannah Woodard had a three-run double in the fifth that gave Triton the four-run lead of 11-7, and added an RBI double and RBI single on her three hits.
Hargrave raised her season batting average to .656 with three more hits, including a two-run single and RBI triple. Hargrave added three runs scored and her 19th stolen base of the season in the offensive carousel.
Courtney Jennings chipped in an RBI double and got the win in the circle, giving up seven hits in the complete game, just two of the runs were earned. Jennings moved to 7-3 on the season with the decision.
On Thursday, Hargrave hit a grand slam and had three hits in a 12-3 win over Caston. Jennings added three hits and a run scored.
Triton had 17 hits, 16 of which were singles. Woodard got the win, not giving up a hit or run in three innings of work.
Triton moves to 12-7 overall and will host Plymouth on Saturday.
