Warsaw Golf: Tigers Win Pair To Open NLC Play
WINONA LAKE – The Warsaw boys golf team opened conference play with a pair of convincing wins Tuesday night.
The host Tigers fired a team total of 155 to top both Wawasee (179) and Goshen (196) in Northern Lakes Conference play at the Stonehenge Golf Club.
Tim Rata shot a one-over total of 36 to lead the way for Warsaw. The Tigers improve to 5-0 overall on the season.
Sam Yeager came in with a 38 and Luke Johnson was right behind with a 39 for the winners. Luke Delp shot a 42 and Tommy Meier 43 to complete the varsity lineup.
The Warsaw junior varsity team picked up a win over Goshen 180-241. Wawasee did not field a complete JV team.
Chase Byron shot a 39 to pace the Warsaw JV squad, which improves to 4-1 overall. Zach LaLonde carded a 42 and Jacob LaLonde a 49 for the Tigers. Brian Elliott shot a 50 and Noah Pequignot a 52 for the home team.
Warsaw returns to NLC action Thursday night versus host Plymouth and Elkhart Memorial at Pretty Lake.
