BSU Inks Contract With Georgia Southern
MUNCIE — Ball State and Georgia Southern have agreed to play a home-and-home football series in 2022 and 2023. The Cardinals will visit Statesboro, Georgia, on Sept. 24, 2022, and the Eagles will return the trip to Muncie on Sept. 23, 2023.
The 2022 game will mark the first meeting between the two teams. Georgia Southern joined the Sun Belt Conference in 2014 after being a historically strong program at the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) level. Since joining the Sun Belt, the Eagles have gone 18-6 (.750) against league opponents. Georgia Southern won the Sun Belt crown in 2014 and a year later defeated Bowling Green in the 2015 GoDaddy Bowl.
The Cardinals kick off their 2017 season the first weekend in September with a trip to Illinois. Ball State’s home opener is set for Saturday, Sept. 9 against UAB. Season ticket purchases can be made on-line at BallStateSports.com (CLICK HERE).
