Mary H. Lengerich
Mary H. Lengerich, 57, Warsaw, since 2009 and formerly of Decatur, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Mary was born on Dec. 31, 1959 in Lima, Ohio to the late Charles Schweller and Mary Helen (Klima) Schweller, her mother passed away at childbirth; she was then raised by her step mother, Jane (Lewis) Schweller. On April 12, 1980, Mary married David L. Lengerich.
Mary was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Warsaw and a former member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Decatur, where she was a collection counter, Sunday school teacher and a member of the Women of St. Marys. Mary was also a 4-H leader for several years. She was a 1978 graduate of Ottoville, H.S. Mary worked as a cashier for 22 years with Kroger’s in Bluffton, Decatur and Warsaw.
Mary is survived by her husband of 37 years, David L. Lengerich of Warsaw; two sons, Matthew D. (Hannah M.) Lengerich and Keith A. Lengerich both of Decatur; a daughter, Melissa M. Lengerich of Warsaw; four brothers, Ron (Mary Jean) Schweller of Ft. Jennings, OH, Denny (Vicky) Schweller of Union Mills, IN, Paul (Sherry) Schweller of Alderson, OK and Jim (Bev) Schweller of Ottoville, OH; two sisters, Phyllis (Maury) Quillen of Shingle Springs, CA and Tina (Joe) Gallmeier of Delphos, OH; a brother-in-law, Tommy Thompson; and a granddaughter Lengerich on the way. She was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Thompson and mother-in-law, Leona L. Lengerich.
Visitation will be from 4–8 p.m. Wednesday, May 10 at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home with reciting of the Holy Rosary at 3:15 p.m.
A 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 11 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with calling one hour prior from 9-10 a.m. in the St. Mary’s Parish Hall. Father Jose Panamatathil, V.C. will be officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials may be given for Masses or St. Vincent DePaul Society.
