Milford — The following events will take place at the Milford Public Library:
Read the latest novels by James Patterson, John Sandford, Sara Paretsky or Carolyn Hart. Listen to new soundtracks Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix Vol. 2 and Pentatonix’s PTX Vol. IV.
Teens will be happy to hear that a new Deadpool graphic novel by Gerry Duggan and Sarah J. Maas’ trilogy conclusion “A Court of Wings and Ruin” is hitting the shelves! Along with that are “Between Two Skies” by Joanne O’Sullivan, Laurie Forest’s “The Black Witch” and “Bubble” by Stewart Foster.
Lemony Snicket’s most recent work “Goldfish Ghost” will be added in the children’s department this month, as will “Dragons Love Tacos 2: the sequel” by Adam Rubin.
New children’s books released this May include “Three Pennies” by Melanie Crowder, “Behind the Legend of Big Foot” by Erin Peabody, and “A Folk Tale: Deep in the Woods” by Christopher Corr.
Children can also watch new DVDs including “Tangled: Before Ever After,” “Paw Patrol: Sports Day,” “Elena and the Secret of Avalor: The Magic Within,” and season one of “Star Wars Rebels.” New items are constantly added to the collection so come in and browse.

Spend Mother’s Day relaxing by watching “Bad Moms,” “Mother’s Day,” “Big Momma’s House 2” or “Mars Needs Moms.” Grab a cup of tea and a moment of silence to enjoy Maria Semple’s “Today Will Be Different” or Sophie Kinsella’s lighthearted “My (Not So) Perfect Life.”
Kids can read stories like “Mother’s Day” by Anne Rockwell, “Two is Enough” by Janna Matthies, “Mom, It’s My First Day of Kindergarten!” by Hyewon Yum and “The Mother’s Day Mice” by Eve Bunting. All these titles are located on the Mother’s Day display in the children’s department.
Kids can get gift ideas by checking out “Mother’s Day Crafts” by Arlene Erlbach, located in the children’s department under J745.591.
Moms who are too busy to stop by the library, may enjoy reading Terry McMillan’s “I Almost Forgot About You” or “Wild” by Cheryl Strayed using the library’s eBook service, OverDrive. Children’s books are also available on the service, such as “Pirate Mom” by Deborah Underwood and “How Do Lions Say I Love You?” by Diane Muldrow.
