Crossroads Tourney To Continue On Monday
INDIANAPOLIS – The Crossroads League announced on Saturday that it was reinstating the loser’s bracket portion of its 2017 Softball Tournament, with action resuming over Monday and Tuesday at Marian University.
The tournament was ravaged by rain after the opening day of action, forcing the initial cancellation of the loser’s bracket to allow the tournament to be completed on Monday. The loser’s bracket was cut in order to accommodate that timeline, setting up a single championship game between the two remaining unbeaten teams in the winner’s bracket of Marian and Indiana Wesleyan on Monday.
Following additional discussions with the NAIA, the Crossroads League was allowed to extend its tournament into Tuesday, enabling the league to reverse its decision and resume the tournament in its entirety on May 8 and 9.
Action will begin at 1 p.m. on Monday at Marian, with Taylor and Spring Arbor playing an elimination game, before Marian and IWU square off at 3 p.m. The winner to TU and SAU will then follow against Grace at 5 p.m. in another elimination affair.
Tuesday’s schedule will feature another elimination game at 11 a.m., with the winner advancing into the league championship game at 1 p.m. and the if-needed game scheduled for 3 p.m.
All games will be streamed live by Marian at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/marian/.
