First Fridays Will Feature Local Talent With Musical May Theme
WARSAW — This month’s First Friday’s theme is Musical May. Downtown Warsaw will be full of musical talent from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, May 5. With many different acts, there is bound to be something enjoyable for everyone.
The evening is scheduled to kick off at 5 p.m. with the Warsaw Community High School’s Jazz Band showcasing local talented youth. Dancers from Astound Dance Academy and Deb Collier’s School of Dance will be performing up and down the streets.
The Lake Area Community band will be performing on the courthouse lawn starting at 6 p.m. This group is from Syracuse and features traditional concert band arrangements. They perform sound tracks from well-known movies as well as current and past pop favorite.
An amazing harmony will take over the center stage at 7 p.m. The Lakeland Community Choir, the Optimist Singers and the Huntington Women’s Choir will join forces for one great performance.
The last scheduled performance of the evening will be from Columbia St. Jazz at 8 p.m.The 1st United Methodist Praise Team and pianist David Haney will be performing all night long.
As usual, food vendors and organizations will line the streets to provide even more entertainment.
“Musical May is just the start of a great season of fun at First Fridays,” said coordinator Paula Bowman. “Come down for family, great food and fun on the square in downtown Warsaw.”
