Tippecanoe Valley hosted its Valley Invite Saturday, getting in a game against Fort Wayne Concordia. The Cadets were able to compile late runs for a 13-7 win.
Valley led the game 4-1 heading to the fourth, aided by RBI knocks from Katie Prater and Abby Betten.
Jewel Stephenson had a two-run single to give the Cadets a 7-4 lead, but Betten whacked a solo homer to counter. Concordia’s Libby Hetler ripped an RBI single and a wild pitch later put the visitors up 13-5, and two Vikings runs in the bottom of the seventh couldn’t salvage the contest.
Kayla Scott took the loss in relief for the Vikings, giving up eight runs in 5.1 innings of work.
Valley (5-10) will host Southwood in a Three Rivers Conference matchup on Monday.
