Triton Sports Wrap: April 29
Boys Golf
Triton added its latest piece of the hardware to the trophy case, winning the Marshall County meet Saturday at Mystic Hills in Culver.
The Trojans shot a 363 for the title, led by medalist Isaac Wall’s 83.
Beau Hepler and Ross Johnson each shot a 93, Braden Kreft chimed in with a 94 and Chase Butler had the fifth-man score of 103.
Triton won its third title of the spring, already winning the Triton and Whitko Invites.
Triton will tee it up again next Saturday at the LaVille Invite.
Girls Tennis
A shorthanded Triton girls tennis team finished sixth at the Concord Girls Tennis Invite Saturday afternoon.
Missing three of its seniors to a class trip, Triton made the best of it and had some court success.
Kolbie Mason finished third overall in the one singles grid, shutting out LaVille, losing to Concord then coming back to beat Jimtown.
The one doubles team of Hannah Wanemacher and Emma Ross topped Lakeland, fell to Concord then rallied past Marian to also finish third in its bracket.
In the three vacated gaps, Triton struggled. Kendra Morris filled in for Quinn Downing at two singles and lost both courts, as did Mindi Dreibelbis and Amanda Baker at three singles for Siera Sauer. At two doubles, Madison Sauer and Haley Hooley went 1-1, Kaylene Slabaugh the missing party.
Triton will host Bethany Christian on Monday.
