WARSAW — Traffic was diverted from North SR 15/Detroit Street Tuesday, April 25, after a three-vehicle accident occurred in front of Sorg Nissan. Warsaw first responders were dispatched to the accident at 4:38 p.m.
A witness was northbound on SR 15 behind Connie F. Worden, 58, Peru, and Melissa J. Troxel, Nappanee, when the three vehicles stopped in traffic. The witness heard tires screeching behind him. When he looked in his rear view mirror he saw a car driven by Sarah E. Fribley, 18, Warsaw, swerve to the right side to avoid the witness’s vehicle. Fribley’s vehicle then swerved left, colliding with the front side of Worden’s vehicle and the rear of Troxel’s.
Fribley stated, according to the report, that she is unsure what happened. She stated that she was driving and all of a sudden traffic was stopped. She declined to officers that she was looking at her radio or cell phone, but did say she might have been day dreaming.
Fribley complained of pain to her neck possibly from her airbag and was transported to Parkview Warsaw for treatment.
Worden had no injuries; Troxel complained of neck stiffness but declined treatment.
