Suzanne Francis DeFay
Suzanne Francis DeFay, 85, Columbia City, and formerly of Fort Wayne, passed away at 8:50 a.m. Friday April 21, at her residence. Born on March 8, 1932, in Lafayette, she was the daughter of Thomas Vern and Evangeline Francis (Clark) Sherrier.
Suzanne attended and graduated from Jefferson High School, with the Class of 1947. She then attended St. Elizabeth Nursing School in Lafayette. Suzanne was a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed entertaining and her flower gardens. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.
Survivors include her children Christine (Bill) Simpson, Columbia City and Douglas (Denise) DeFay, Fort Wayne; grandchildren Ashley and Alexandria Simpson, Brittney (T.J.) Kindschy, and Nathan DeFay; great-grandchildren Makivory Simpson and Ava, Landon, and Blake Kindschy; brother John Sherrier, Port St. Lucie, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Dave Sherrier and Phil Sherrier.
In accordance with the wishes of Suzanne, there will be no calling or services at this time.
