Warsaw Golf: Tigers Fourth In Don Dicken Classic
WINONA LAKE – The Warsaw boys golf team earned a fourth place finish in the annual Don Dicken Classic on Saturday.
The host Tigers finished with a team score of 329 in the 14-team field for the event held at the Stonehenge Country Club.
Two-time defending state champion Westfield took home team honors with a 316.
Sam Yeager led the way for the Tigers with a strong round of 76. Tim Rate also turned in a fine effort for the hosts with a 77.
Luke Delp fired an 85 and Tommy Meier had a 91 for Warsaw. Luke Johnson and Rob Sullivan each finished with a 95 for the Tigers.
The Warsaw junior varsity team earned a second place finish among 14 teams in the Rochester JV Invitational Saturday.
The Tigers shot a 365 to finish as runner-up to CMA, which shot a 342 in the event held at the Round Barn Golf Club.
Zach LaLonde paced the Tigers with an 86. Jacob LaLonde finished with an 88 and Lucas Rhoades a 95. Chase Byron shot 96 and Brian Elliott 102. Noah Piquegnot had a 115.
