Valley Sports Wrap: April 15
The Tippecanoe Valley baseball team dropped a tough one at Bremen Saturday.
The host Lions rallied for three runs in their final at bat in the seventh to nip the Vikings 10-9 in non-conference play.
Valley scored a pair of runs in the first frame before Bremen answered with three in the home half. The Lions extended their lead to 5-2 before the Vikings plated five runs in the fifth to take a 7-5 lead. Bremen scored a pair in the fifth to tie the game at 7-7 before Valley scored twice in their final at bat in the seventh.
The two teams combined for 26 hits, including seven extra base ones, and seven errors in the game.
The quartet of Alex Craig, Tanner Trippiedi, Adam Myers and Lucas Walters each had multiple hits to lead the offense for the Vikings.
Trippiedi took the pitching loss in relief for Valley. Myers went five innings and allowed four earned runs.
Valley, now 1-1, plays at Pioneer on Monday.
