The Whitko softball team slipped by rival Columbia City 4-3 Friday evening. The Wildcats scored all four of their runs in the final two innings top secure the victory, including a walk-off performance from Ellie Snep.
The Wildcats trailed 3-2 in the bottom of the seventh and tied things up when Emmy Duggins knocked in Riley Insley. Snep would later have her signature moment as she singled to bring in the winning run, represented by Anna Ousley.
Snep also picked up the win in the circle for Whitko as she recorded three strikeouts and gave up two walks.
Whitko (6-1) travels to Carroll Monday night.
Whitko’s JV baseball team was defeated 10-2 by Maconaquah. No stats were reported for the game.
