Hundreds Turn Out For Easter Egg Hunts In Milford And North Webster
MILFORD AND NORTH WEBSTER — Hundreds of kids from infants up to 12-year-olds came out for Easter Egg Hunts in Milford and North Webster today, Saturday, April 15.
Milford Kiwanis Club hosted its annual Easter Egg Hunt at Milford School. The morning started off with the arrival of the Easter Bunny via fire truck who handed out candy to those waiting for the hunt to begin. Then at 10:30 a.m. youngsters were released to hunt close to 400 eggs. Each participant was allowed six eggs to turn in for cash prizes and an opportunity to take a special egg home with his/her name.
North Webster Lions Club’s annual Easter Egg Hunt was held at 9 a.m. sharp on the ball diamonds. Lions club members distributed 40 dozen colored hard boiled eggs and 10 dozen silver and special eggs between the four ball fields. The fields were divided by age group – toddlers and under age 4, preschool and kindergarten, first to third grade and fourth through fifth grade. Those finding special eggs received cash prizes. The hard boiled eggs were donated by Creighton Brothers.
Following the Easter Egg Hunt many traveled up to the North Webster Community Center to participate in crafts and games. Photos with the Easter Bunny were also available. Those participating in the crafts could make paper chicks or bunnys, make paper flowers, create sun catchers, color pages or use stickers to make a poster. There were other events as a brief story time, bean bag toss, egg bowling and more.
Milford Lions Club and Lakeland Kiwanis both hosted a breakfast in their respective communities to get the day started.
