Valley Sports Wrap: April 13
Softball
The Tippecanoe Valley softball team fell to Winamac 19-0 Thursday evening. Abby Betten and Katie Prater had the only hits for Valley in the contest. Erika Brogdon led Winamac with four RBIs and four runs scored.
Valley (0-3) hosts Plymouth Friday night.
Golf
The Valley boys golf team fell to Rochester and Culver Academy in a match Thursday evening. Valley’s Jeremy Julian was the match medalist with a 39, but CMA’s 172 bested both Rochester (190) and the Vikings (207).
After Julian’s score the Vikings were represented by John Young’s 53, Cade Brouyette’s 57, Chris Schipper’s 58 and Bryston Canada’s 65.
Valley (0-2) travels to Michigan City to compete in the Marquette Catholic Invite Saturday.
Girls Track
The Valley girls track team fell to Manchester 76-47 Thursday night.
Lexi O’Connell was a double winner for the Vikings as she took first in the 100 hurdle (16.4) and 200 dash (27.7). Sarah Tucker was the other individual winner on the track for Valley as she ran a 13.4 to win the 100 dash.
In the field Valley boasted first place efforts in the long jump and shot put. Jalyssa House (13-8) won the long jump while Mikayla Ruiz (30-4) won shot put.
Valley also took first in the 400 relay with a time of 53.80.
