Christena Rinkenberg — UPDATED
Christena Rinkenberg, 91, Plymouth, passed away peacefully Monday, April 10, 2017 in the
Miller’s Merry Manor in Culver.
Christena was born on Sept. 17, 1925 in Marshall County, Indiana to J. Nilas and Lottie (Eaglebarger) Brown. Christena has been a resident of Marshall County her entire life. She enjoyed sewing and was an accomplished seamstress. On February 14, 1947 Christena became the bride of David J. Rinkenberg at a ceremony in the Mount Pleasant Church. The Rinkenberg’s enjoyed 63 years of marriage when he preceded her in passing on April 29, 2010. David and Christena enjoyed many Saturday mornings at the Farmer’s Market, where they displayed many of their beautiful handmade items.
Christena is survived by her four sons: Gene and Brenda Rinkenberg of Plymouth; John and Sheila Rinkenberg of Plymouth; Dave and Kimberly Rinkenberg of Plymouth; and Ken and Peggy Rinkenberg of Goshen; also surviving are her ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
Christena is preceded in passing by her parents, husband, sister, Beatrice Miller; and her brother, Lowell Brown.
The Van Gilder Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A private family service will be held.
