Central Tabs Shattuck As Football Coach
ELKHART – The Elkhart Central football program has a new leader.
Josh Shattuck was approved as the new coach of the Blue Blazers by the school board Tuesday night.
Shattuck comes to Central after spending the last four seasons as the coach at Seymour High School in southern Indiana. He was 15-29 there, going from 0-10 his first season to an 8-4 mark during the 2016 campaign. That record was the program’s first winning season since 2005.
Shattuck, 31, has been a head coach for eight seasons total, including four years at Gladstone High School in Michigan. A Michigan native, he played basketball his senior season at Alma College for current Central boys basketball coach Terry Smith.
Shattuck replaces Levon Johnson, who resigned in January. Johnson was 22-52 in seven seasons at Central.
