Terry L. McFarland, 74, Plymouth, formerly of Warsaw and Winona Lake area, passed away
Friday, April 7, 2017 in Noble County.
Terry was born on Jan. 29, 1943 in Plymouth to Arden R. and Roma (Zimmerman) McFarland. Terry was a graduate of Plymouth High school. He was well known for his handyman skills. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking, canoeing and auto repair. Visiting the state parks was his favorite pastime. His greatest joy was his family whom he loved dearly.
Terry is survived by his children, Dawn and David Birkey of Lewisville, Ky.; Tonya McFarland White of Fort Wayne; Patrick and Brenda McFarland of North Dakota; step-children: Ken Landry of Plymouth; Nancy and Jimmie Rogers of Oklahoma; also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; his brother, Monte and Grace McFarland of Tennessee.
Terry is preceded in passing by his parents, both his spouses, Glenda, and Doris, two sisters, Barb Maze and baby sister, Kay, and brother, Ralph.
The Van Gilder Funeral Home is honored to be caring for the McFarland family. A graveside in the New Oak Hill Cemetery will follow the visitation with Chaplain Alex Jack officiating.
A time of visitation will be held from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. Thursday, April 13 in the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street Plymouth, IN 46563.
The McFarland family requests memorial contributions in honor of Terry are given to the Ft. Wayne Children’s Zoo, 3411 Sherman Blvd. Ft. Wayne, IN 46808.
