Telecommunicators Week
This week marks the annual National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.
Held every year during the second week of April, NPSTW is a time to recognize telecommunications personnel in the public safety community for their service and commitment to the profession. It highlights a profession that demands unique professional skills and personal attributes of people willing to make sacrifices like working weekends, shifts, and holidays, twenty four hours a day, seven days a week.
It is our pleasure to honor the “unsung” individuals that work behind the scenes answering calls for the 38 different police, fire, EMS and other agencies that funnel into the Kosciusko County 911 Communication Center. With 18 dispatchers, answering over 76,000 various calls last year, their work and dedication to the citizens of Kosciusko County is unparalleled.
