Warsaw Track: Tigers Fall To Kingsmen
MISHAWAKA – The Warsaw boys track team opened its season Monday night with a 76-56 loss at Penn.
The Tigers captured five first-place finishes in the non-conference meet, including three on the track.
Warsaw took top honors in a pair of relay events in the matchup of perennial powers. The team of Rane Kilburn, Will McGarvey, Alijah Wade and Tristan Larsh claimed first place in the 400 relay for the Tigers with a winning effort of 43.5.
The 1,600 relay team also captured a first place finish for Warsaw. The team of Larsh, Bishop Harrison, Ridley Lemon and D’Andre Street won the event with a top time of 3:37.7.
Wade also was an individual winner as he placed first in the 200-meter dash in a winning effort of 22.8.
The duo of Kilburn and John Svinarich were winners in field events for the Tigers. Kilburn won the long jump with a top effort of 20-7.75. Svinarich placed first in the shot put with a throw of 46-0.
Warsaw is off until opening Northern Lakes Conference action with a meet on April 13 at Elkhart Memorial.
