Softball
Fairfield kept the pressure on NorthWood in a 10-1 win Tuesday afternoon.
The Falcons plated three runs in the second, four in the third and two more in the fifth to get a comfortable advantage. Fairfield had 11 hits in the game, highlighted by a three-run homer from Chloe Dell.
Sarah Shank had three hits and three runs scored, Greta Yoder had a pair of hits and runs scored, and Morgan Sanchez drove in a pair.
Kinsey Miller struck out three and scattered five hits in the complete game win.
Gracie Clark led NorthWood (0-2) with two hits and a run scored. Clark was the losing pitcher, allowing five runs and six hits in two innings.
NorthWood will visit Tippecanoe Valley Wednesday afternoon.
Baseball
After a tough loss Monday at Westview, NorthWood rebounded with a solid 8-0 over Marian in Nappanee.
Alec Holcomb three six scoreless innings in his varsity debut, striking out five.
Brant Mast had a double, triple and three RBIs. Jaron Mullet had another two hits and Sawyer Warren added two doubles in the offensive attack.
NorthWood (1-1) will play again Wednesday at Mishawaka.
