Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
10:22 a.m. Monday, March 27, 105 E. Main St., Warsaw. Driver: Ulysses Francis, 74, West Market Street, Warsaw. Francis side swiped a parked vehicle while pulling into a parking space. Damage up to $2,500.
4:33 p.m. Monday, March 27, Lake City Highway and Old Road 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Brittany R. Ianucilli, 24, South CR 250W, South Whitley, and Frederic P. Brouwer, 77, Nottingham Place, Winona Lake. Ianucilli had believed a red light turned green and struck the rear of Brouwer’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
10:31 p.m. Monday, March 27, 619 W. Jefferson Street, Warsaw. Driver: Charles L. Clements, 43, West Jefferson Street, Warsaw. Clements and a pedestrian were in a verbal altercation outside of his residence. Clements attempted to leave in the vehicle when the pedestrian opened the door and grabbed onto him. Clements put the vehicle into drive and dragged the pedestrian alongside the vehicle a few feet. Clements then fled on foot, leaving the vehicle at the scene. Clements was arrested for failure to stop after an accident. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
4:25 a.m. Monday, March 27, South Harkless Drive, north of East Pickwick Drive, Syracuse. A vehicle went over the center line of the road and into a yard on Pickwick Drive. The vehicle continued through the yard and struck a Syracuse town pump station generator and a NIPSCO gas meter located next to the generator. The vehicle has been towed. At this time, no driver has been identified for this vehicle. Damages up to $100,000.
