Carolyn J. Pitt, age 84, Warsaw, passed away at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017, in Miller’s Merry Manor of Warsaw.
She was born Dec. 30, 1932 in Three Rivers, Mich. to Orson F. and Helen I. (Geibe) Cosner.
She was united in marriage to Allan E. Pitt on July 17, 1953 in Three Rivers, Mich. A Warsaw resident since 1984 she was a former resident of Kalamazoo, Mich. Her employment included Western Michigan University Food Services and Owens Supermarket (East), Warsaw Deli Service. She was a member of Pleasant View Bible Church, Warsaw. Furthermore, she was former member of Oakwood Bible Church, Kalamazoo where she taught children’s Sunday School and enjoyed singing in the Choir for many years. She collected calendars, was an avid reader and University of Michigan football fan and enjoyed her dog “Skip.”
Survivors include her husband Allan E. Pitt of Warsaw; daughter Jaynan (spouse Tom) Montague of Marshall, Mich.; son David (spouse Ami) Pitt of Warsaw; and daughter Nancy (spouse Chris) Eaton of Portage, Mich. In addition, nine grandchildren, including Jennifer (spouse Steve) Montague, Chris (spouse Gretchen) Montague, Kyle (spouse Kadie) Cosner, Sarah (spouse Aaron) Baier, Rissa (spouse Ben) Wilson, Carolyn Pitt, Courtney Eaton, Cailey (spouse Brandon) Little, Nicholas (spouse Skye) Eaton and nine great-grandchildren survive. She was preceded by one sister.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 28 in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 29 in the Funeral Chapel with Pastor Mike Hontz officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, IN.
