DAVID IRA MORNINGSTAR
David Ira Morningstar, 79, Tippecanoe, died Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 3:35 p.m. at the South Bend Hospice House, South Bend. He had been in declining health for the past couple of years.
On July 22, 1937 in Perrysburg, Ohio he was born to Ira E. Morningstar and Pauline (Speaker) Morningstar. He has lived in the Tippecanoe community for the past 20 years.
On July 18, 1998 in Marshall County he married Carol Ann (Denny) Flory. She preceded him in death on March 10, 2017.
David was a railroad switchman for LTV Steel, East Chicago, Indiana.
He was a member of the Walnut Church of the Brethren, Argos, and Metis Indian Dance Tribe of Northern Indiana.
David was a graduate of Perrysburg High School class of 1955.
David is survived by his daughters, Dawn Morningstar and her fiancé (Brian Newman), Portage; and Jennifer Coppes and husband Ryan, Oakwood, Ohio; sons, Jon Morningstar and wife Chris, Utah; Shawn Morningstar, Rochester; David Morningstar Jr.,Portage; and Jason Morningstar, Kewanna; nine grandchildren, Gary, Heather, Cynthia, Joshua, Ashley, Mindy, Jonathan, NaCalvin, and Liam; and ten great grandchildren, Kara, Alexandria, Clairee, Zoey, Dakota, Brody, Rae, Landon, Pheniox, and Naella.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Randall Morningstar; brothers, George Morningstar and Mike Morningstar; and sisters, Shirley Ignasiak and Irene Morningstar.
Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at the Walnut Church of the Brethren Church, 5975 19th Rd., Argos.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at the Walnut Church of the Brethren Church, 5975 19th Rd., Argos, Indiana with Rev. Robert E. Rice Jr. of the Walnut Church of the Brethren officiating. Burial will follow at the Walnut Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Argos.
