Victim Speaks Out About CVS Attack
WARSAW — A female from Warsaw experienced a situation that women hope never happens to them – being attacked. The 19-year-old victim has spoken up about her experience to help prevent this situation from happening to other women.
Last night, March 20, at approximately 10:20 p.m., the female was getting in her car at CVS, 100 N. Detroit St. Warsaw, when she realized she was not alone in her vehicle.
The female said she knew something was wrong when, “I smelled cologne and knew something was off so I turned around and saw him in my back seat in the fetal position.”
She began screaming right away. He grabbed her and held her to the seat and told her to be quiet. She bit him because he was covering her mouth to keep her quiet.
“I just felt like yelling and trying to fight him off was the best thing,” said the victim.
The victim was able to free herself from the man and run into CVS, where she asked an employee to call the police. Her attacker, later identified as Daniel Davis, admitted to police that he had intended to take the victim’s car and money.
This incident has prompted her to consider taking extra precautions in the future, “I will now make sure my car doors lock. My remote key is broken so even though I thought I locked it when I went in, it did not lock.”
She also plans to get pepper spray and check her backseat before getting into her vehicle from now on.
