Don H. Titus, 89, Nappanee, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017 at his residence with his family by his side.
He was born Aug. 28, 1927 in Kosciusko County to Ben Sr. and Kathryn (Hungerford) Titus.
On February 26, 1948 he married his wife of 69 years, Carol J. (George) Titus.
In addition to his wife, other survivors include two daughters: Pamela (Rex) Culp, Nappanee; and Patricia (JB) Stillson, Syracuse; one son: Gary (Shirley) Titus, Nappanee; six grandchildren: Jud Stillson, Syracuse; Jessica Stillson, San Francisco, CA; Gina Baer, Virginia Beach, VA; Polly Mishler, Nappanee; Justin Titus and Skyler Titus, Nappanee: eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and one sister, Nellie Robinson, Atwood.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Ben Jr., Ned, and Ted Titus and one sister, Wylan Smith.
Don was a 1945 graduate of Atwood High School and served in the US Army during WWII in Germany. He was a farmer for 40 years.
Don loved and cherished his family. He enjoyed watching western movies, talking politics, and boating and fishing when living at Waubee Lake. He also enjoyed spending the winter months in Port Canaveral, FL. In his later years, he looked forward to visiting with his friends at McCormick Motors and the Round Table at Dutch Kitchen In Nappanee.
Cremation will take place at Elkhart Cremation Services. A family celebration of his life and burial at the Hepton Cemetery in Nappanee will be held at a later date.
