Perlie M. Kessinger
Perlie M. Kessinger, 80, Marion, died at 8:45 p.m. on Friday, March 10, 2017, in her residence.
She was born in Prestonsburg, Ky., to the late Joe and Anna (Johnson) Justice. Perlie married David Kessinger on May 29, 1981, and he survives.
Perlie previously worked in home healthcare as an independent caregiver. She was a member of Emmanuel Freewill Baptist Church in Wabash. Perlie was a woman of many talents, which included sewing, crocheting, and cooking. Her talent of sewing and crocheting will live on with the many afghans and quilts she made for her family. Perlie was courageous, dedicated, loyal, spunky, and loved life. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her husband, Perlie is survived by her children: Richard “Rick” (Deb) Carroll, Syracuse; Tina (Mark) Speicher, Middlebury; and Anita Shepherd, Warsaw; step-son, Mark Kessinger, Salt Lake City, Utah; step-daughter, Bobbi Jo, Ketchikan, Alaska; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; siblings, Polly Cantrell, Ray (Sharon) Justice, Peggy Orr, Robert Justice, Betty (Ken) McKillip, Mary (Jim) Frasure, James (Debbie) Justice, and John Justice; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Perlie was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bill Justice.
The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion.
The funeral service for Perlie will begin at 1 p.m. with Chaplain Ron Forsythe officiating. Burial will follow in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery.
