Home Occupation Business Approved By BZA
WARSAW — It was a shorter than normal agenda for the Kosciusko County Board of Zoning Appeals during its regular monthly meeting Tuesday morning, March 14, in Warsaw.
Among the agenda items was giving approval to a home based business for Shane Wallace. He will be operating a plumbing, heating and air conditioning business from his residence on Koher Road, south of Papakeechie Lake in Turkey Creek Township.
Wallace’s petition had been originally considered at the February meeting but was tabled for a month to allow him time to clean up the property, which he has done. He indicated he will be storing materials and equipment in either buildings on site or elsewhere.
Other agenda items included:
• Walt and Sherry Runyan were granted a variance to allow construction of a residence addition, a covered breezeway and garage, on EMS B40C Lane in Tippecanoe Township.
• Craig and Melanie McBride were granted an exception to allow the floor and foundation to be repaired and dry rot repaired, adding flashing to redirect water and increasing the garage door height on their property on the south side of Black Point Road, west of a road with no name in Turkey Creek Township.
• Scott Kolakowski was granted a variance to allow a new two-story residence accessory building to be constructed on the south side of EMS D12 Lane, southeast of CR 1000N in Van Buren Township.
• Paul’s Welding was granted an exception to make additions to an existing warehouse and to expand into an acquired adjoining property with a house on it, as well as expanding parking areas on CR 1000N, east of SR 19 in Jefferson Township. A variance was also granted to allow two uses on one tract of ground.
• On Monday, the hearing officer approved a petition by the North Webster Church of God, SR 13, to open up an existing coffeehouse as a public ministry.
