Warsaw Track: Teams Show Well In Indoor Action
MARION – The Warsaw girls and boys track programs each had some strong performances Saturday as the indoor season continued with the Bulldog Invitational, a Hoosier State Relays qualifier, at Indiana Wesleyan University.
The quartet of Anna Craig, Angie Sanchez-Vigil, Emma Bohnenkamper and Mia Beckham turned in a season-best time of 13:07.43 in the 4000 Distance Medley Relay event. Their times ranks as the 12th best in the state.
The 4 x 200 relay team of Abby Curtis, Maykayla Clampitt, Maygan Bellamy and Shuntera Davis clocked in at 1:49.99, which is the 13th fastest time in the state.
Morgan Bruner cleared 5-1 in the high jump for the Warsaw ladies, giving her the 17th best effort statewide. Charlene Orr clocked in at 11:51.98 in the 3,200 run.
On the boys side, the 4 X 400 relay team of Tristan Larsh, D’Andre Steet, Bishop Harrison and Ridley Lemon went 3:35.63, the 21st fastest effort in the state.
The team of Larsh, Street, Rane Kilburn and Alijah Wade clocked in at 1:35.48 in the 4 X 200 relay race, That time is the 25th best in the state.
Kilburn also went 7.38 in the 60-meter dash and Trevor York clocked in at 9.46 in the 60-meter hurdles.
Hunter Metzger cleared 11-0 in the pole vault and John Svinarich had a throw of 45-2 in the shot put.
The finals for the Hoosier State Relays is set for Saturday at Indiana University in Bloomington.
The Warsaw girls are scheduled to open their outdoor season at Penn on March 22 in a triangular with the hosts and South Bend Washington.
The boys squad is slated to host Fort Wayne Snider and East Noble on March 23 in its opener.
