Grace Basketball: Lancers, Greater Warsaw Prepping For NCCAA’s
WINONA LAKE – Grace College will once again host the men’s and women’s NCCAA Basketball National Championships. The tournament week begins Tuesday with some area connections and play runs Wednesday through Saturday with the two championship games.
The Grace College men’s program earned the No. 5 seed and will play the No. 4 seed Central Baptist College (AR) at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15. The Grace women’s program earned the No. 6 seed and will play the No. 3 seed Emmanuel College at 7:30 p.m.
The Parade of Champions ceremony, where all 16 participating teams are introduced, will be held at 7 p.m. before the Grace women’s game. Also, prior to the Grace women’s tournament game there will be a Kosciusko Community Hospital and Grace College presentation.
Former NCAA DII Ashland University head coach Sue Ramsey will be the tournament banquet speaker. Sue retired from coaching after 35 years and led Ashland to the NCAA DII title in 2013. She was inducted in the FCA Hall of Faith in 2013 as well. Tickets are available to hear Ramsey speak by attending the tournament banquet. All 16 teams will also take part in community service projects on Tuesday morning and afternoon, which have the teams at different schools, service locations and businesses to take a moment to better the lives and greater Warsaw and Winona Lake communities.
