Warsaw Basketball: Regional Final Set For 8:30 Tipoff
MICHIGAN CITY – The starting time for the boys basketball regional final at Michigan City High School on Saturday is now set for 8:30 p.m. (ET).
The time had originally been listed earlier in some places as an 8 p.m. (ET) contest.
Michigan City High School announced that after discussions with the IHSAA and all four teams involved in the regional that the game would begin at 8:30 p.m. (ET) to give teams as much rest time as possible in between games and to keep the time as consistent with the rest of the state as possible.
The Class 4-A regional opens Saturday at 11 a.m. (ET) with South Bend Adams versus Merrillville.
Warsaw, which won the Elkhart Central Sectional, will then play East Chicago Central at approximately 1 p.m. (ET) in the second semifinal game.
The regional winner will advance to the North Semistate on March 18 at either Lafayette Jefferson or Huntington North. The IHSAA will make semistate assignments on Sunday, March 12.
The Tigers will depart on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. from the South Silo of the Tiger Den. The team will travel from WCHS North on SR 15 until exiting on to US 30 West to proceed on to Michigan City. Fans and well-wishers are invited to greet the team bus as it travels along this route.
