Jackie S. Shafer
Jackie S. Shafer, 73, Warsaw, passed away in Kosciusko Community Hospital at 8:51 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2017.
She was born on July 18, 1943 to John and Laurene (Roberts) Ong in Muncie, Indiana.
She was the owner and operator of Cooper 66 in Leesburg for four years. She worked for ABC Industries as a supervisor for 10 years and Jomac Gloves also as a supervisor for eighteen years, she worked for a total of twenty-seven years at Jomac Gloves both of Warsaw.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #49 and the Thursday Night Ladies Bowling League both of Warsaw, Indiana.
Jackie enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, fishing, NASCAR and going to the casino. She also loved her adopted pets from the animal shelters.
She is survived by her daughters: Beverly (and spouse Ray) Fenix of Warsaw; and Debbie (and spouse Daniel) Shepherd of Winder, Ga.; a son, Victor Rhamey of Palestine; brothers Tony Ong and Mike Ong both of Muncie; a sister, Patty Stahl also of Muncie. Eighteen grandchildren and thirty-six great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Tammy McClanahan, a brother John Ong Jr. and a grandson, Randy Crawford.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday March 10 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel Warsaw with Reverend Ben Pippen officiating.
A visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday March 9, 2017at the funeral chapel.
Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, Indiana.
The family is requesting that the memorial contributions be made to Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County, P.O. Box 1906, Warsaw, Indiana 46581-1906.
