Agnes (Bowles) Grissom Keith, 95, Ligonier, passed away at home on March 4, 2017.
She was born on Oct. 5, 1921, the daughter of Clinton and Winnie (Bowling) Bowles. On Sept. 11, 1943, she married Harold Grissom; he preceded her in death on Oct. 23, 1976. She later married Edward Keith on Nov. 10, 1979; he preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 2017.
She is survived by her children: Michael (Sue) Grissom of Columbia City; and Mary Reynolds of Ligonier; step-children: Sandy (Jimmy) Steele of Auburn; and Dave (Chris) Keith of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both her husbands, and two step-daughters.
Agnes graduated from Ligonier High School in 1940 and received her nurses training from St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN. She retired from Goshen Hospital in 1982 after over 30 years of faithful service. She was a member of Ligonier United Methodist Church where she often volunteered and was a member of the Good Samaritan, Lydia Circle. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and camping with the Newmar Kountry Klub. Her other hobbies included fishing, painting, sewing, knitting, crafts, and gardening.
A funeral service in Agnes honor will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 9 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier, IN 46767. Pastor Jean Ness will officiate. Burial will take place at Solomon Creek Cemetery, Benton, IN.
Family and friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 8 at Yeager Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Ligonier United Methodist Church, 466 Townline Road, Ligonier, IN 46767.
