Edgewood 8th Grade Ladies Earn Title
COLUMBIA CITY – The Edgewood Middle School 8th grade girls basketball team finished off an unbeaten season in conference play with a tourney title Saturday.
The Tigers won a pair of games to claim the NELMSC championship at Indian Springs Middle School.
Kensie Ryman popped in 16 points as Edgewood used a big second half to top Bremen in the championship game 37-27.
Edgwood trailed 18-9 at halftime before rallying for the title. Lindsey Bradley scored 10 points in the win, while Brooklyn Fitzgerald had eight and Audrey Grimm three.
Ryman netted eight points and Bradley seven as Edgewood beat Crestview 34-20 in the semifinals.
Kendra Love and Grimm each added six points in the win. Fitzgerald scored five points and Brittany Duncan two.
Edgewood, now 16-2, went undefeated in conference and tournament play. They will represent Warsaw next Sunday in the Indiana Middle School State Tournament in Plainfield.
