Potential Health Benefits Of Chocolate Discussed At Warsaw Community Library Presentation
WARSAW — Sue Delagrange, registered dietician/nutritionist from Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana, gave a presentation about chocolate Monday, Feb. 27, at the Warsaw Community Public Library.
The presentation was free to the public and included a brief history of chocolate and information about the potential health benefits of chocolate.
Delagrange informed those in attendance that dark chocolate is a powerful source of antioxidants and minerals, raises HDL and can help reduce risk of heart attack.
Delagrange stressed the importance of choosing quality chocolate. Dark chocolate with 70 percent or higher cocoa content is best in terms of potential health benefits.
Food samples and recipes were provided at the presentation.
Delagrange will be returning to the library on Monday, March 27, to give a presentation about how to eat healthier while dining out. There is no charge to attend this presentation, but you must be registered.
