Thomas E. Zeiger
Thomas E. Zeiger, 66, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb.16, 2017 at the Veterans Administration Northern Indiana Health Care System, Marion Campus, Marion.
He was born on Oct. 30, 1950 in Rochester, the son of Joseph A. and Martha J. (Richard) Zeiger.
Thomas served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He had worked at Sonoco Products in Akron in the Production Department. He had attended St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rochester, and was a member of the Eagles Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, and the American Legion. In his free time, he enjoyed auto racing, fishing and loved to get out and enjoy coffee with his friends.
Survivors include his children, Rachel and husband Jasper Midkiff, Rochester; Martha and husband Robert Artist, Rochester; Melanie and husband Scott Moody, Warsaw; five grandchildren, Dane and Kaelyn Midkiff, Abigail, Thomas and Elena Artist all of Rochester; step-grandchildren, Alexandria, Samuel and Kyle Moody, Warsaw; sister, Nancy and husband Lonnie Cripe, Rochester; brothers, John and wife Martha Zeiger, Rochester, and Rick Zeiger and companion Debbie Brubaker, Rochester.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Zeiger.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday Feb. 22, at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, with Rev. Michael McKinney officiating. Friends may visit from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana where military graveside services will be conducted by the Fulton County Veterans Honor Guard.
