David D. Clayton — UPDATED
David D. “Dave” Clayton, 80, Warsaw, passed away at 1:40 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, 2017 at Mason Health & Rehab in Warsaw, IN.
He was born June 18, 1936 in Syracuse to Eldon and Louise (Watkins) Clayton.
He graduated in 1954 from Leesburg High School and was a lifetime Kosciusko & Noble County area resident. He was married on Sept. 20, 1995 in Kimmell to Judy K. (Cook) Vincent, who survives. He retired from Clausing Industrial in Warsaw and Goshen as a machinist after 55 years.
He formerly attended the Church of God in North Webster, was a former leader of Kosciusko County 4-H Horse and Pony, and was an avid fisherman & hunter.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Clayton, Kimmell; three daughters: Deb (Don) Minear, North Webster; Raetta (Manuel) Madriz, Eden Prairie, Minn.; Mary Ann (Joel) Vorndran, Columbia City; two sons: James (Toni) Clayton; Ed (Judy) Clayton, both of North Webster; two stepsons: Brad (Carla Snyder) Smith, Kimmell; Ron (Christy) Smith, Kimmell; 13 grandchildren and six great grandchildren; three sisters: Betty Clayton and Dee Stetzel, both of Albion; and Eldonna (Randy) Warren, North Webster.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Rosalind Clayton and Sally Phillips.
Visitation will be from 4–7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd 13 & CR 500N, North Webster. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Judy officiating. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw. Private family burial will take place in the Leesburg Cemetery.
