MutualBank Donates Benches To Local Non-Profits
INDIANA — MutualBank donated sixteen benches, recycled from plastic lids to nonprofits throughout Indiana. Throughout 2015 and 2016, MutualBank employees and customers collected plastic lids from a variety of sources such as bottles of water, laundry detergent, peanut butter jars, etc. The goal was for each employee to collect a total of two pounds of plastic which would result in 850 pounds of plastic that would be recycled and turned into park benches.
MutualBank achieved 100 percent participation with their 425 employees throughout MutualBank’s eleven county footprint in Indiana. The final collection was four times the initial goal of 850 lbs. and was a total of 3,240 pounds. The plastic was recycled and molded into sustainable park benches then donated to nonprofits throughout MutualBank’s footprint. Winners of internal contests and competitions enabled MutualBank Financial Centers and departments to get to vote and determine recipients of the benches. In some cases, some recipients of the benches were also contributors toward the collection of plastic lids.
MutualBank is proud to beautify and impact non-profits in the community. MutualBank would like to thank all of the employees and customers who contributed to this project. A special thank you to Earthwise Plastics in Marion, Indiana for their partnership in the creation of the benches.
