Warsaw Basketball: Frosh Claim NLC Tourney Title
SYRACUSE – The Warsaw freshman boys basketball team capped off a terrific season with a pair of wins Saturday to claim the Northern Lakes Conference Tournament championship at Wawasee.
Blake Marsh tossed in 15 points as the Tigers topped Elkhart Memorial 50-39 in the title game.
Connor Lennox had 10 points and Tedros Berelsman nine in the finale. Keagan Larsh added seven points, while Jaylen Coon had three. The trio of Wyatt Amiss, Drew Yeager and Johnny Feldman each scored two points.
The duo of Lennox and Larsh each grabbed eight rebounds in the title game win. Lennox also dished out five assists and Amiss had two steals.
Marsh also led the offense for the Tigers in a semifinal win over NorthWood. He tallied 16 points in a 55-45 win.
Berelsman added nine points and both Lennox and Coon finished with eight points. Amiss scored seven points, while Larsh had five and Jose Lara two.
Lennox led the rebounding effort with four caroms and Larsh had three. Marsh had four assists and Amiss nabbed two steals.
The championship squad included Marsh, Feldman, Amiss, Berelsman, Yeager, Coon, Larsh, Lennox, Lara, Austin Spice, Noah Bohnenkamper, Carter Schuh and Noah Burgh.
Hayden Harter was the manager of the championship team.
Eric Ewert was the head coach of the frosh Tigers with Pat O’Connell serving as the assistant coach for the team, which finished the season with an 18-3 record.
