Grace Track: Lancers Compete In Taylor Invite
UPLAND – The Grace College track and field team continued its indoor season with the Taylor Invitational on Saturday.
The Lancers had several strong showings in the meet from runners to throwers.
In the 600-meter race, Sam Hall won event in 1:23.89 and Tyler Houvener was third. Macallister Seitz was second in the weight throw at 51-feet-7.25, and Hannah Treadway was fourth in the women’s weight throw at 46-5.5.
Nathan Lane finished fourth in the 3000, and Raven Arellano was also fourth in the 1000. Ben Rankin placed fifth in the 5000, and Paige Kindig was also fifth in the pole vault.
Katelyn Shaver (6th place) and Treadway (8th) had good showings in the shot put. Joel Bertelsen was seventh in the 800, Liz Fox ended seventh in the 600, and Cameron Johnson (200m), Nolan Miller (400), Karla Singer (mile), Brigit Nemitz (3000) and Brianna Tuttle (weight throw) were all eighth in their respective events.
Next week, the Lancers will have a semi-league tournament with the Crossroads League Invitational. The meet, held at Indiana Wesleyan, will feature almost every league opponent.
