LCA Basketball: Cougars Collect Victory
WINONA LAKE – The Lakeland Christian Academy boys basketball team picked up a much-needed win Friday night.
The host Cougars used a strong team effort to top South Bend Career Academy 59-51.
LCA, which snapped a four-game losing streak, improves to 7-12 on the season.
The Cougars led 19-16 after the opening period and 35-26 at halftime en route to the victory.
Landon Twombly led the Cougars with 18 points to go with eight rebounds.
Josh McDaniel netted 13 points and dished out five assists for the winners. Jake Harmon scored 11 points and Eli Raymond added eight for LCA.
Brandon Keller had a career night with a scoring best nine points and also added six rebounds for the winners.
Jeremy Gross grabbed seven rebounds for LCA in the win.
Jerral Sutherland scored a game-high 22 points to lead the way for South Bend, which drops to 7-14.
LCA plays at Delphi Saturday afternoon. SB Career Academy plays at Hammond Science and Tech on Feb. 17.
