Miriam E. “Pat” Benson, 85, Syracuse, passed away at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse.
She was born on March 2, 1931 in Milford to James R. & Pauline O. (Ringler) Losee.
She was a lifetime Syracuse area resident and attended Syracuse High School. She was married on Jan. 24, 1948 in Syracuse to Warren G. Benson who preceded her on Dec. 24, 2013. She as a former co-owner/operator of Syracuse Dry Cleaners for 28 years and worked at Johnson Controls in Goshen for several years.
She was a member of the Church of God in North Webster, formerly attended the Syracuse Church of God & Syracuse Church of the Brethren.
She is survived by her daughter, Gail Benson-Sauers, Goshen; her son, Jim (Pam) Benson, Syracuse; six grandchildren: Amanda Benson, Brianne Sauers, Kim Davis, Leslie Vanover, Angela Frost and David Killian; sever great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren; three sisters: Rosemary “Peg” (Jerry) Method, Janice “Jan” (George) Bowler and Sharon Kaufman, all of Milford; a brother, John Losee, Darlington, Wisc. all survive.
She was preceded by her parents, husband, daughter, Janet Patrick, son, Carl Benson, great-great grandsons, Henry Davis and Thomas Archer and brother – Richard Losee.
Visitation will be from 11–1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. on Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Judy officiating. Burial will take place in the Syracuse Cemetery.
