Paul D. Weirick
Paul D. Weirick, 83, rural Silver Lake, passed at 10:22 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017 at Kosciusko Community Hospital of Warsaw.
He was born Feb. 27, 1933 in Silver Lake to Clifford and Mildred (Miller) Weirick.
He married on Jan 24, 1958 in Burket to Mary D. Keplinger, she survives.
Paul was a farmer as well as a driver for Indiana Motor Bus as a charter bus driver, for LRC Company of Pierceton, and for D R Smith Trucking of Akron.
He was a graduate of Silver Lake High School in 1951 where he played basketball. Paul served his country during the Korean War as a part of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Shorthorn Cattle Association. He had been a 4-H Leader for the Rambling Farmers of Silver Lake. His family sponsored the 4-H trophies for shorthorn cattle. Paul also sang in barbershop chorus at Chain O’Lakes.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; his daughter, Lee (Greg) Kuhn, Claypool; his son, Jeff (Linda) Weirick, Claypool; grandchildren, Nicole and Justin Weirick, Laketon; Jessica (Gustavo) Santian, Albion; great grandson, Owen Lane Snyder; five step grandchildren; sever step great grandchildren; his sister, Margaret (Dennie) Conley, Stuart, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son.
A private family graveside service will take place at Palestine Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 8, at Hartzler Funeral Home 305 West Rochester Street Akron, Indiana
